Ecology

As specialists in ecology related to trees, Access Arboriculture provide ecological consultancy services that prioritise the preservation of wildlife and habitats during tree and vegetation work. Our services include:

  • Tree climbing bat surveys. Licensed surveys to assess potential bat roosts in trees. We carry out ground level tree inspections and aerial inspections of trees for roosting bats.

  • European Protected Species licences. When bats and other protected species are found to be present, we can apply for the relevant Natural England licences to ensure that works legally can go ahead.

  • Nesting bird surveys. We provide nesting bird surveys to ensure that tree work and vegetation clearance can go ahead and comply with legislation.

  • Ecological clerk of works (ECoW). On-site ecological supervision during tree and vegetation removal, ensuring that work is carried out responsibly with minimal impact upon wildlife. We provide ECoW for protected species, including bats, badgers, reptiles, great crested newts and nesting birds.

  • Habitat surveys: Baseline ecological surveys using the UK Habitat Classification method and Biodiversity Net Gain condition sheets to inform wider development projects.

  • Bat and bird boxes: Installation of bat and bird boxes on trees as part of mitigation for development projects.

Based in Norwich, Access Arboriculture provide ecological services throughout the surrounding areas of Norfolk, Suffolk and East Anglia.
